Threshold

fall 2007/2nd year architecture/individual

To find a threshold within the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum and interpret it.

I found the Noguchi room most appealing for the threshold project just because there was a distinct difference in sound and atmosphere between this space and the gallery right next to it. I observed a quietness about the Noguchi room compared to a gallery of people conversing about the artwork.

My interpretation of the threshold so that others can experience it:

I recorded loud noises and played them in a different room. As you walk towards the fountain, silence and the sound of water falling is all you can hear.
